WINDOW

2018

Photography book

The Window, as an idea, frames the view of the external environment and acts as an image or screen. The window is not merely a hole in the wall, which serves the view outward, but it is embodied as an image combining the outside/public and the interior/private image at one common point – glass. The place where the work is realized does not belong to the external objective environment, nor to the private space of one’s imagination. The gaze is no longer directed out but stays on the surface of the image itself; here, the reality of the visible and the relative of perception coexist.

Window is in constant state of »work in progress«, is deconstructing, decaying and recomposing simultaneously. The work explores the imagery correlations between the various types of environments in which we operate, between the subject, the private, the public and all that stands on their threshold.

The site-specific installation reevaluates an active flux of  the visual image and its breaking point existing on a threshold.

The Window, as an idea, frames the view of the external environment and acts as an image or screen. The window in this “moment” is not merely a hole in the wall, which serves the view “outward”, but it is embodied as an image where abstract forms are establishing flatness and simultaneously combine the outside/public and the interior/private image at one common point – glass. The place where the work is realized does not belong to the external environment, nor to the private space of the institution, but it is constituted on the interface, where the view is no longer directed “out” but stays on the surface of the image itself; here, the reality of the visible and the intangible of intervention coexist. The work explores the correlations between the various types of environments in which we operate, between the subject, the private, the public, their interactions and all that stands on their threshold.
